Sorry I don't have supporting pictures, but maybe one of the Plaza occupiers with a camera can snap some shots of First Tennessee's tower across the way on 6th and you can clearly see what this post is about and why you should move your accounts from the large National and Internation banks to local banks or credit co-ops:
I went into the branch at the base of this tower on tuesday and SWORE, for my own safety, I will never go near it, or any other of their branches again. All of the major banks downtown are turning their buildings into fortresses. First All of the doors and all of the ground floor glass is being replaced with THICK bullet and BLAST-Proof panels of acrylic. The interior of the lobbies are being transformed in a "barrier" system. Just by them taking these steps, the message is clear;"banking here has a very high risk of being caught in some sort of cross-fire or bomb blast!" The downtown "forts" being modified will make the other branches more vulnerable...why would someone try to assault the fort when the branches are unprotected?
If you bank at one of these big banks, don't take your kids to the bank with you anymore.
