Hi Everyone

Hi there,
My name is George, I am 42 year old gay punk who is currently unemployed, sells used shoes and stuff on ebay to make ends meet, and writes a political/economic blog that gets a fair amount of views. I was born and raised in Nashville and after living a few other places came back because I love this town.

Politically I am a Marxist but a Marxist who understands the pragmatic limitations of existing in a world where capitalism is king. I am also a devout Christian who tries to live my daily life in a way that matches up with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I attended the rally on West End and was very impressed with the turn out (I organized one of the largest gay rights protests in TN history back in 2008 so I am very aware of how hard it is to pull something like this off) but I am taking a cautious approach to this movement so far. At the rally I was very happy to see a wide range of opinions being offered, open discussions are one of the most valuable things in the world, but I am waiting to see if this movement begins to coalesce around one, or a few, particular viewpoints before I feel I can jump in head first.

Even though I am just sticking my toe into the water I encourage everyone involved to keep working as hard as you can. The biggest enemy any of us face at this time is apathy and this is one of the best rebuttals to apathy I have seen in some time.
