A few ideas I had......

(1/1)

Ohio4OWS:
bake sales....pot luck dinners....craft sales...one of those a week....rotate through em ....brings people to the plaza and gives people something to focus on while making money for ON.....maybe a raffle for one of the 99% t-shirts or something similar.......start doing landscaping (sort of) in the spring, mowing lawns, weeding gardens, walking dogs, painting porches...etc....better the community, promote teamwork, and get your name out front with a positive spin..........story time on sundays maybe for a kid friendly environment...for story time...have our arts and crafts people come up with their own books that are occupy based..... game time on sundays while kids are doing story time..have quiz games..quiz people of occupy facts.....occupy related prizes.....fun...educational.....and you'd get an audience if it's nice enough out.....open public soapbox...at bottom of plaza steps...increases visibility.... passers by can jump up and say whatever even if it's just hi...... to clear out the bad apples on site....i would suggest some type of merit system....still working on that..it's hard though without being on site.........volunteer to read to kids at a hospital or the library .....volunteer at a nursing home to run activity time....for community time...make up bingo cards..and play occupy bingo....have things like small facts on the cards....instead of numbers.....the food bank was a wonderful DA......more of that..but go to the kitchens to serve the people...but do it as ON..wear the ON t-shirts and hats and pins.....anything, no matter how small and silly it seems, if it's done right, it'll be a great press opportunity..not to mention being a great teamwork environment.......i'm sure i'll come up with more lol but that's all for now....

something that came to mind....those not following code of conduct should be treated like a prisoner on community service.....have a couple of designated "wardens" who will supervise the person(s) caught not following code of conduct while they perform community service.....picking up trash around nashville.....keeping camp clean.....organizing things...etc........thoughts?

Ohio! All of these are AWESOME ideas!! (See, why is it this stuff not getting discussed? If people have enough free time on their hands to be petty..put that energy towards this instead!)

Keep up the good work and the even better train of thought.  8)

I'm with ya Ohio! I've had a lot of these same ideas. The problem I'm having is getting people together here to actually execute them.  I've hit the stream, forums, and the ground. I get a lot of "yeah, let's do that", but when I suggest and execution, I hear crickets.   Hopefully some folks will step up on this thread. If there's anyone out there that wants to have a sit down and figure out how and when to execute these ideas, I'll be more than glad to help
