Vibes: autumn

Note taker: eva

special note from the notetaker, I lost the actual notes from the g.a. this is mostly from memory, except for the typed out proposal from meghan:

Tristan welcomes everybody and introduces the facilitation team

We have a special guest from Cuba!! She is a Minister and tells us in her words that she is in solidarity with the occupy movement and that Cuba ,too wants to get rid of the 1 percent domination over the people. She explains That Glendale Baptist church is her sister church and that they are all visiting Occupy Nashville.  She says this time of year is about hope love joy and peace.

Tristan then explains the hand signals and how we work on modified consensus.

Michael Custer makes an announcement about Camden,TN.  They are trying to shut down a dump in their town. They have been promised that this would occur, I think dec. 4. It did not happen. When they sent a letter to the governor, He replied something about Occupy Nashville. Michael wants to take a few of us down there to help them make this happen.

PROPOSAL:

Meghan has a proposal:

On Wednesday, DEC. 21 at 10 a.m., we will mobilize to protest the foreclosure and sale of a 78 year old community volunteer's home
in North Nashville.  This sale will take place on Wednesday, dec. 21 at 10 a.m.
on the courthouse steps

At 9 a.m. Occupy Nashville will meet at Legislative Plaza and be available for questions. at 9:30 , we will march to the davidson county courthouse with flags and signs. Once gathered at the courthouse steps we will sing Occu-carols and perform the following mike chek:

" This home has been occupied by Ms. Helen Bailey for over 20 years.  She is 78 years ols.  Ms. Bailey tried to work with chase to prevent her home from being foreclosed.  If chase had been willing to make a 9,000 dollar principal reduction several months ago, the home would not be currently in foreclosure. In the same quarter, Chase made 4.26 billion dollars in profits.  We believe in people not profits."
We will then sing more occu-carols. Media will be encouraged to attend.

the proposal passed with 100 percent consensus.

tristan then said thank you to everyone making an effort.

we then had a soapbox.

special note**** we had a Mr. Holt from the 76th district visited us and observed our g.a.
