War Room / Republican Debate
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:57:55 am »
Did anyone get to watch the GOP Debate last night?  There was a question about their thoughts on the OWS movement.  First of all, I think that's awesome!!  Obviously, this is not to be ignored!  Second, Herman Cain appalled me and others by basically saying that it was the protestors' fault for not having jobs, not the banks!  Then he stated that the banks had nothing to do with it, it was the government's fault only.  I don't really support any candidate, but Ron Paul did give a nice rebuttal about how the banks were absolutely involved and that we should not blame the victims of this economic crisis.  The victims being the protestors.  Go Ron!  Of course, no one else had much of an opinion and were trying to stay on neutral ground.

Introductions / I'm Jennifer, RN

Hey guys!  My name is Jennifer.  I'm a nurse in the ICU at Vanderbilt.  I am pro-occupation because I see on a daily basis what big business does to our health.  It destroys it!!  Big Pharm companies and Big Insurance companies have taken over our health and it isn't a good thing.  I have many patients who are homeless or headed that direction because they have so many health problems, and most of them HAVE INSURANCE!!  They can't afford their meds, so they don't take them, then they end up on my floor where I'm sure it's at least a $1,000/day just to occupy a bed not including all the other expenses that go along with it.  Then they inevitably lose everything and sometimes that means their lives!  It's a vicious cycle that needs to be broken!!  If there are any other health professionals on here that feel the same way.  I'd love to hear from you!

Jennifer
