Occupy Nashville Chat / Re: Occupy Dixie: Trivial Issues

I am a fan of the above post, i feel that we should have ever changing roles within the movement, while we all have skills that are better for one work group or another we can bring something to every aspect of ON. I pray that everyone can start going to meetings that they wouldn't normally find themselves in, this would not only bring fresh ideas to every table, but also expand on our interactions with each other. I have noticed in my little time here that I am reminded of high school. Everyone links up with those that are similar, and have agreeing views, this causes rifts between individuals simply because you will team up with your "associates" fight even when you don't necessarily agree with that person. I remember being part of the skater group and being hated by nearly every other group, however I was on little league with all the jocks back when we were all younger, I did track for a bit, was on the chess team and also did drama. What I learned from all that was that many people liked me in school, as long as no one knew they did, lol in private we got along and were able to achieve goals, but within the group dynamic all were opposed to my existence.  May-hap if we had more group interaction with those we dont see eye to eye with we could see how they view things better and understand where they could be coming from. i personally haven't heard the sexism argument so i don't speak on that i speak on the society of ON and all the cracks and gaps. If we would work together to bridge our canyons instead of yelling back and forth which side of the gap is better we could achieve what we were brought together in commonality towards our goals. If someone opposes what you believe in you should speak with them more than those who agree with you, its the only way you will learn anything new, as well as give you better  ideas on dealing with your opponents, isnt that why people play devils advocates? Anyway there it is, just another opinion in a sea of such. all my love to all that accept it and twice as much to those who dont. Yippie OUT.

I propose to set an image example of what would occur if the tents were moved from the plaza. As far as i understand the covered area just before the entrance to the legislature, is still public land. I feel that placing a great number of people down in this covered area, handing fliers, holding signs, doing a lunch time feeding, and talking with all who would listen that we would be forced to protest in this more inconvenient area to protect us from the rain, wind, sun, ect. This would bring our fight against this bill (and everything else) more directly to the legislators and lobbyists, we have thus far not been a hindrance on them daily, if this were done for a week, perhaps they would vote down this bill simply to keep their entry way clear of us lol. we would have to take care not to impede a walkway (though we could make a "gauntlet") and take extra care to leave no trace of our occupation once we leave that area, i would also suggest have drinking water brought down in jugs and misc. needs in this area for the times they were open. to show that we are much better placed up-top, out of the way and provided shelter by our tents.
