The GA on Sunday, 8/19, unanimously approved 2 proposals:

1) Next Sunday's GA on 8/26 (7pm) will be devoted to planning on-campus "casseroles" and/or other events to protest rising college tuition fees and increasing student loan debt.  We want to protest at high schools, colleges, universities and for-profit educational  institution headquarters.  Students and recent students should be the core of this effort, and we should look for people who can assist us with access to campuses and students.  We want to do this soon, as students are already returning for the autumn semester.

2) On Tuesday, 8/28, from 4 to 6pm, we will hold a Whistle Blowing protest in front of the Federal Building between 8th & 9th Ave. S. on Broadway.  We will hold signs and BLOW WHISTLES in support of various whistleblowers, including Julian Assange and Bradley Manning, who have tried to expose government wrongdoing and are facing punishment for their services. Bring whistles and signs!

I hope to see as many people as possible on Sunday, 8/26, at 7pm on the Plaza and on Tuesday, 8/28, on Broadway and 9th!
(Remember, GA's are every Thursday and Sunday evening at 7pm on Legislative Plaza.)
